Bruce Bayliss retired in June 2007 as Head of School at The International School in Portland, Oregon. Bruce was born in New York and raised near Boston, and has spent more than thirty years working in international schools in Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. Bruce has been involved in the following organizations:
- European Council of Independent Schools (ECIS)
- Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA)
- Board Member, Japan America Society of Oregon (JASO)
Mr. Jaime Dominguez is currently the Head of School at Stuart Hall for Boys, part of Schools of Sacred Heart in San Francisco, California. Mr. Dominguez received his B.S. in Biology from Princeton University and an M.A. in Educational Administration from Michigan State University. Mr. Dominguez began his career in education in New York City as one of the early corps members of Teach for America. Subsequently he taught math and science in Austin, Texas and London, England. Prior to his headship, he was a Middle School Administrator at the American School in London. Mr. Dominguez serves on several boards including Teach for America – Bay Area and St. Martin de Porres Catholic School in Oakland, California. Stuart Hall for Boys Stuart Hall for Boys is part of Schools of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco- the only schools in northern California to offer single-sex classrooms in a coed community. Stuart Hall enrolls approximately 320 students in grades K-8 and has a general student/teacher ratio of 10:1. Since its founding in 1956, Stuart Hall has been dedicated to the education of young men. Jan Burreson is a Partner at Rubicon International. She is a frequent national speaker on curriculum mapping implementation and curriculum development strategies to improve teaching and learning. She has presented at conferences including the National Association of Independent Schools, the European Council of Independent Schools, the European League for Mid-Level Educators and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Jan holds a B.S. degree in Political Science from San Jose State University and a M.S. degree in Organizational Development from San Diego State University. Jan has taught at the secondary and university level and has been committed to public service throughout her career including:
- Japan America Society of Oregon – former Chair, Board of Directors.
- National Council on Urban Economic Development – Board of Directors and member of Executive Committee, frequent national speaker on urban development.
- Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum – former member, Board of Directors.
- USAID’s Food for Peace program in Peru and Brazil.
John Moore is a Senior Partner at Rubicon International and has led numerous technology and strategic initiatives in education in Taiwan, China, Korea, Southeast Asia and Western Europe, as well as other parts of the world. John has a BS degree from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, has attended Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan and received a MA degree in political science and Asian studies from the University of Michigan. John is currently Chair of the Georgetown University Schools Committee. John is currently on assignment in Madbury, New Hampshire, as Rubicon International’s Practice Director responsible for overseeing client schools and new business development in the Atlantic states, as well as the Midwest, Japan and the Middle East. Gary Squires is a Senior Partner at Rubicon International and has extensive experience working with institutions in organizational development and curriculum process design. Gary has obtained his BS degree from Princeton University. He was the former Chair of the Princeton University Schools Committee. Gary serves as the Practice Director responsible for client teams in the relationships and new business opportunities in the Northeastern US, Southeastern US, and Canada. Gary currently consults with the curriculum teams at many of our client schools and has helped direct many of the technical advances in the Atlas Curriculum Mapping operating environment. Steve Roberts has participated in Rubicon International’s Educator-in-Residence program for the past 3 years and is anticipated to return in the summer of 2011. Originally from California, he has worked extensively all over the globe at International Schools throughout his career. Steve is currently the Internal Technology Specialist at Rubicon International. He has also served as the Technology Director/Coordinator at the Walworth Barbour American International School in Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel and the American International School of Dhaka in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Steve holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from California State University in Los Angeles. Additionally, he earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership along with an Instructional Technology Certificate from San Diego State University.
