Eager to continue making a difference in education where needed most, a Rubicon International team set off and landed safely in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on September 27th, 2010.
Armed with school supplies, apparel and professional development expertise, the team has embarked on their mission to partner with various organizations and schools to offer support to school children and teachers recovering from the 7.0 earthquake.
The trip is sponsored by the Rubicon/Atlas Charitable Foundation. Throughout the two week stay in Haiti, the Rubicon Foundation team will meet with educational leaders and indentify potential projects that will benefit from the Foundation’s support.
On-the-ground discussions will enable the Foundation to build relationships, critical to identifying and focusing assistance opportunities that will have a lasting and sustainable impact. Many organizations are currently working and providing humanitarian relief in Haiti.
The Rubicon Team hopes to identify possible partnerships where the Foundation’s efforts and expertise might have sustainable impact in helping address the educational crisis.
