In September 2010, The Rubicon Educational Foundation sent a team to Port-Au-Prince to lay down the ground work for educational projects. I was fortunate enough to be a part of this team and came back profoundly affected, transformed, and empowered by the resilience of the Haitian people.
I wrote a song about a 10-year-old Haitian girl survivor, whom I met in October while in Port-Au-Prince. This composition is my personal effort to keep the world aware of the survivors and their pressing needs.
If they can respond to injustice, tragedy and suffering with love, hope, and faith, then the world can learn a great deal from the Haitian people.
