Give Books. Give Hope

Give Books. Build Dreams.

Remember the delight you discovered with your first book? The crisp pages, bright colors—the big words you read aloud. Books about dogs, moons, talking crickets—stories and words that lingered long after you flipped that final page.

We do. And we want to share that sense of wonder with books. That’s why the Rubicon Educational Foundation is currently partnering with schools around the world to send 1000 books to Haiti by January 2015. The effort is simple. We want to provide inspiring reading resources to children in need.

Like many developing countries, students in Haiti struggle to get access to education. In fact, Haiti is one of the least literate countries in the world. Only 1 in 5 children have access to public school, and less than 8% of the students will graduate from high school.

In an effort to support schools and teachers working with minimal resources, we invite you to join in a movement to bring tools for literacy to Haiti. These restoration efforts happen one school at a time—by donating books, students will have the resources and the opportunity to learn to read.

How your books will get into the hands of students

Collected books will go to schools in Haiti participating in the Rubicon Foundation’s Partner Schools Program. You can collect books through a book drive and send them to us, and we will ship them to Haiti.

Schools around the world helped us meet and surpass our initial goal of bringing 1,000 books to Schools in Haiti! We want to keep this spirit of giving alive and are encouraging our Partner Schools and others to continue giving.

3,000 Books Goals
