Recently, we received very exciting news from the Crescent School in Toronto, Canada, a member of the Rubicon Educational Foundation’s Sister School Partnership Program. TeacHaiti, Crescent School’s Sister School in Haiti, has been teaching art classes to children in the community who have limited access to education.
Art supplies at the school are always in short supply, which creates a challenge for educators and limitations for students. When the students at the Crescent School discovered this, they rose to the challenge! Fifty-four 5th graders rallied to raise funds for art supplies, purchasing sixty sketchbooks to send to the students at TeacHaiti.
Before sending the sketchbooks, the Crescent School children illustrated the first page adding a personal touch and a spark of creativity. The students look forward to an art exchange with their friends at TeacHaiti—art-inspired pen pals. This type of creative exchange is just one way a school can get involved with the Sister School Partnership Program. For more information on how you can get involved, visit us here.
